Pick one or two or makeup something else.

1. Make her dinner and rent a movie.
2. Go out to dinner and movie.
3. Go dancing,(yes, for her I would, even though I can't dance.)
4. Stay at home and make sweet, gentle, romantic lovin'.
5. Stay at home and make hard, sweaty, animal, dirty lovin'.
6. Get her a card and that's that.

Does she climb? LOL I will probably be climbing on Vday.. I hope anyway... I'm all about 4 and then 5... LOL 8) what about making love while climbing? naw.. jk... I dont even remember what Simon did for me last year? I don't care that much about V-day honestly? why share romantic day with the rest of the world? anniversaries are better because they are just yours....

Yep, that's my pick. When she gets home from work have a bouquet of roses in your hand as you stand there buck naked wearing nothing but your climbing harness with some gear on it and ask is she wants to summit you   !

1,4 and 5 are all compatible... why should you choose any one when you can have all three??

wouldn't go out - at least over here restaurants are usually fully booked, so service (and sometime food) are usually not up to the place's usual standard....
and a token gift.... even if something v. small (or not!) - its a must!! (eg champaign to accompany the meal....)

Like someone else said, a token gift (if only a card) is key. whatever it is, you can bet she'll treasure it! Oh, if you opt for a card, make sure you write something personal and nice in it.

Here's another tip for the stay-at-home-romantic date: Take a shower. Put on aftershave. If you have a really classy outfit, surprise her by wearing it. There's nothing sexier than a man you already know and love making the effort to look (and smell and taste...) his best for a special occasion. (Well, except a man you already know and love sending a V9 topless on a hot day. But that's a different conversation! ) Trust me, the classy outfit won't stay on long.

Good luck!

Any of the above except 6...that's just lame. But you seem like a romantic guy, so I doubt you'd go that route. :D Personally, I'm taking my wife away for the weekend to go horse-back riding in the snow. :)

Rent your local indoor gym for the night. Turn out the lights, climb "vulgarian" style, by headlamps. Make hard, sweaty, animal, dirty lovin' in the tire rubber. Repeat.

One word:

Flowers.

Preferabley delivered to her job. (Unless she works at the Mustang Ranch.)

There might be a few cynical dirt barbies that claim flowers aren't all that. But I bet even they would change their tune when a tastefully deliciaticious boquet shows up and she can not so subtely display the clear infatuation that you have for her to all her colleagues.

Do it and the hot sweaty animal love will follow naturally.

I'd make up something else. Something so wildly personal and sacrificial so as to make her feel truly special.
Make her dinner, by a large window in moonlight (and candles), have champagne with strawberries, then rose petals on a bed, long massage with essential oils (start training, it's truly worth it). Then 4 and 5. Then, at the end, offer her massage again, make her her favourite indulgence dish, refill her wallet with $50 bills and resole both her high-heels and climbing shoes, and finish with polishing her rack and preparing a fruit dish for breakfast with a note explaining how you love her in between pieces.
Even try dancing at home, post dinner but pre-massage. If you feel like it.

In proceeding weeks (months, years?) you'll be having more 4 & 5. (I'd think, you might be having too much for your own good, in which case disregard the post).

Okay, here is what I'm doing for my wife.

I found a large abandoned water tank with walls of cast in place concrete about 30' high and open to the night sky. It has a small pipe dripping water into the bottom that has pooled on one side of the tank with cat-tails growing in it. The flow of water from the pipe creates this sublime waterfall sound. First, I am going to place about 300 tea candles all around the tank on this little shelf on the inside. Then I will drop a small table and chairs into the tank for us to have a dinner I am having prepared by our favorite Indian restaurant. (My friend has one of those coolers that also keeps things hot.) After dinner, I'm going to show her a 16mm film of our wedding that I had made from the video and use my Dad's old projector to project it upon the concrete wall of the tank as we cuddle beneath a blanket.

As far as my girlfriend goes, I haven't decided what I am going to do for her yet. :D

Just be sure these flowers (roses) were not previously given to you by another woman (yes, this has happened - why am I not married any more???)

lol

I shall make up my own...be it a Birthday, or Valentines...

long distance romance, does just that.

last year I sent my sweetie on a little bit of a scavenger hunt...for a suprise that at end lead him to REI, to pick up a prepaid gift of SNOW SHOES.

Let me say? the happiness, and anticipation in his voice, i heard as he was on his way...His guessing as he waited. He was giggling like a girl... was all soooooo worth it.
Very exciting.

This year? Hangerlessbolt, shall do exactly this...for me, for us... on Valentines

We shall push Valentines out until the 20th.
I expect to be picked up at the airport by a personal LIMO from "U~HAUL", driven by my sweetie, Robert.
This LIMO...and ALL of it's contents, is the best gift that Robert has ever given me. HIS MOVE!

He is moving to Portland, to WE FINALLY get to begin our life.
We've worked hard thru this long distance relationship.
Soul mates. Partners in Adventure.

This LIMO shall take us on a tour of the West Coast from Orange County, all the way up to Portland.

I ask for this: For it is the girlyist gift i can ever get.

*love*, and it shows.

smile*

~T

forgot to say...

love on her!!
she'll love the lovin

distance only makes it clear to me , that touch...and lovin is so taken for granted.
