He was there. Climbed in Val-Da Will most def come back I think. If you went to Rumney and almost flashed the hardest route there, I think you'd be psyched to go back. So maybe he's gonna hang around the east coast again when the weather gets better.

Chris Sharma was also at the bouldering competition at Horizon Roc (december 14)... He didn't compete but he was there (and he signed my chalk bag  ) I think he was in montreal for the "premiere" of pilgrimage. You can read my whole story: here and here He is a very nice person!

In reply to: No, but your blog entry does kinda border on it. ;) Ok... shame on me. I'm not the kind of girl worshipping people. But I admire Chris for what he does, and I will not hide it just in case people might think I'm a worshipper. Remember that my blog is not about climbing, and that people who read it are not climbers... So I exagerated my description of him, so people could understander better who he is in the climbing world... BTW, sorry, my english s*cks.

People, people, I hadn't posted anything on rc.com for something like two years, but this I feel I just need to share. I have a secure source that will remain unknown and that tells me that mr. Sharma climbed at a gym in montreal no later than a few weeks ago. I will keep the name of the gym and the purpose of his visit secret just because I believe the poor guy has a right to a bit of a private life. a little something to chew on  S.

Darn, and to think I thought I held some bit of news, sorry about that, I'm so like yesterday and all. Guess i'd be a really crappy paparazi. Well at least I gave it a try, that'll teach me about trying to look cool and jetset and all. 8) cheers, W.

Yeh well, we should uphold our status here in Quebec as stardom's quiet place to be. We live in such a nice place... I am pretty sure that the guy will check out the nicer testpieces around the province, as some people will undoubtedly try to convince him to. It will be nice to see some projects go.

In reply to: :D btw, which is more pathetic, Ricky Martin worship or Chris Sharma Worship? I agree that Sharma has a right to his privacy but to compare him to Ricky Martin is flippin lame. I had a chance to meet him a couple hrs before the Petzl rock slide show in Bishop a while back and can tell you the man has a wonderful personality. A lot can be said from a man's handshake. A strong firm handshake could indicate overconfidence or lack of. As strong as Sharma is, he did no such thing...in fact quite the opposite. Show compassion to those who give it. Hell, show it to everyone regardless. This does not fit in with "worship" but rather as "respect". :!:

In reply to: btw, which is more pathetic, Ricky Martin worship or Chris Sharma Worship? Sharma worship is by far the worst -- because climbers should no better. It's pathetic. Sharma respect is normal enough behavior, if you're into that kind of thing -- the guy climbs hard, and he's not an asshole -- but the constant and ongoing preoccupation by the contemporary climbing public with where so-and-so is at and and who did what is a little bit creepy. Climbers have always kept tabs on what's new and noteworthy, but this age-old word-of-mouth practice has been replaced with something that approaches a pathology. I mean, does any one really care where Chris Sharma went boulering last fall? And if so, why?

Worship? no... that's not it. Actually...I do worship people, but thei're either dead writers, or rockstars (worshipping is fun :D ) anyhow their not climbers. Robert Smith rocks!!! (he really does) But I'd like to see good ol'Chris give a try at la zebre in Val Da while he's around. I've heard it's the last 14 test piece in quebec yet unclimbed. But perhaps I'm wrong in this assumption (feel free to correct me). Anyway, I wouldn't worship him for that either, but I'd certainly give him a thumbs up and a smile if I was there (that's about as much as you'll ever get from me) Maybe I'll offer him a beer too, but only if he's nice (I don't share my beer with unpleasant people, famous or not). cheers, W.

There is another 14 test piece in quebec. Just outside of Montreal actually (not Val David). And if anyone wants to give it a try, drop me a line. Later, BS PS maybe someone should start a climbing tonight TV show so we can all know where all the great, amazing, bloody god like climbers are all the time.

In reply to: I heard Elvis was spotting. Really? I thought, at his age, menstruation would no longer be a problem. Either that or he's just a big grease stain by now.
