Hey guys, I am headed down to Old Rag, VA for some climbing this week with some friends. I was hoping someone could give me some beta on where to camp and some information on how to find the good rock that I here is so hidden. If anyone familiar with the area wants to join that would be even better (Wed-Thur), but information would be very welcomed. Thanks, EROCK

Hey I won't be much help but will point you in the right direction. There's a mod here named Tim (use to have screen name jabbo) and he's from the mid Atlantic region but now out west. He use to climb there a lot. Just put up a post called 'looking for jabbo'. OR post to this DC group. There's a guy called Hung and rich that know that area as well. Here's the link http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dcoutdoorrockclimbing/ Charlie

In reply to: Butt to find the trail ...u hike almost to the summit { couple hundred yds down} theres a big low angle slap {4 class} follow that down till ur in the woods and keep heading down ... there has to be a good trail there by now ... Watch out, this beta could get you lost. The most reliable way to get around up there is to buy a copy of Horst's guide and keep your eyes peeled for the three-trunked tree about 10-15 minutes after you pass the summit (coming from Berry Hollow) or else just go with someone who knows the place. If you can go with Rich or Hung (or Pat Traynor if he's around, or Ari for that matter, or cadaverchris) they can all find it (cause I've climbed with them in those areas). Probably many other people can too, but those guys are often on the mailing list. Good luck and have fun.
