Hi I´m about to buy a new cut resistant rope.
It´s supposed to handle sportclimbing, but also TR and trad. Allrounder.
Would really want your advice/opinions about:
¤ MAMMUT Supersafe 10.2mm
¤ EDELRID Extreme dry 11mm
¤ BEAL Top Gun 10.5mm
How they wear, how´s the handling and any other thoughts.
I know that alot of topics is about what rope to get (I have read them)
But because the rope is one of the most important safety items to me (if it breaks... ), I still would like as much info as possible. Therefore your opinions about those ropes would be great.

hello.
i have not tried the mammut supersafe, but in my opinion, mammut makes the best ropes out there. i've climbed on a variety of ropes, but have never owned anything other than mammut.
so, my vote's for mammut. they're always tough, yet supple and easy handling.

It's hard to beat the Beal. If you are mainly sport climbing, these give a really soft catch. They wear well, but not as well as the Mammuts I've owned. However, Mammuts have hard catches. Both ropes handle well. Not familiar with the Edelrid Extreme you mention.

Hi, I was just wondering if you had considered the mammut flash 10.5mm. I have one and am enjoying it alot. The catches are not that hard, and because of its diameter it should last a little longer than the 10.2.

Thanks for your opinions, but hey keep em comming.
Another thing I´m wondering about is the dry treatment. As far as I understod it would increase the durability(less dirt) and of course keep the water out (less weight, no weakening). but acording to this: http://www.singingrock.com/en/technet/metodika/wet_icy_ropes_dangerous.php the dry treatment doesn´t work as supposed!
Now I´m confused
Any coments?

Hey, i just got my Mammut supersafe as in like 20 hrs ago.....i havn't used it yet but it looks great and i have only gotten great feed back from people on it. They are a bit pricy but if you go to sportsextreem.com and a willing to wait for a bit you can get a 60m for like 160 bucks!!!

ye, I have already ordered a supersafe from sportextreme. Have heard a lot of good stuff about it.
They cant ship it until 25 maj, but I trashed my foot so I dont really need it right now.

I own both a Mammut and an Edelrid, but not the exact models you asked about. For my own preference, I would choose the Mammut it has a better hand than the Edelrid when tying. The catch seems fairly similar although, when falling, I can't say that is what's going through my head.
