That is really amazing. I also wonder if the guy had any climbing experience. In any case, when you know that people's lives are at risk, that realization pushes you to do things you might not be able to do normally. I read about a man who single-handedly lifted an 850 pound steel pipe off of a co-worker who was trapped beneath it. Adrenaline is an amazing chemical...

I guess there is some societal value to climbing after all.
