The Italian web site go-mountain.com is reporting that the enormously experienced, 110% committed to the lifestyle, and consensus best all-around rock climber in the world, Alex Huber, has free soloed "Kommunist" (5.14a) at Schleier Wasserfall in Austria. Congratulations to this incredibly dedicated climber who, over 15+ years of single-minded devotion to his craft, had the patience and maturity to wait until he achieved zen master status in rock climbing, proving his mettle in the sport, trad, big wall and alpine genres of the sport, before venturing into that most exacting and perilous aspect of the sport, free soloing at the limits of his ability. A worthy example for us all.

Alex is such a stud. Good for him. Yep, he's pretty much got all the bases covered on being the best all around rockmeister on the planet.

He's 'bout to run out of super-human feats! But I am curious, what does Tomas do when he's not freeing El Cap?

Many many many many props to this man. I have never met him, but would love to, even though I would only be ably to nod in his direction. (I am not worthy)

I wonder if Alex was wearing those killer leather pants during the solo. I know he favors them while wandering about the valley. Probably has something to do with supporting the HUGE cajones he has. In fact, he could well be the most "rockstar" of the climbing gods. He has the self confidence, raw talent and ego to back the comparison. Adding the long flowing locks and the black leather might equal screaming teenagers and thrown bras. Either way you have one sexy beast of a climber. RJ
