Yikes! It looks inherently unstable! If the direction of fall was slightly off axis, it could blow easily.

I'd conctact EBay and let them know people are selling death traps. I've never seen one, and never want to. Impoeted from the United States? I thought Friends were made in England.

Last time I saw anything like that it was under glass at the Gendarme in Seneca, along with all manner of rusted out old pins and sh!tty buttonheads. Kind of a "can-you-believe-people-climbed-above-this-gear-through-the-ages!?" exhibit. [Indiana] "IT BELONGS IN A MUSEUM!" [/Indiana]

it looks like you'd use it like a big bro (from trango)....wedge it in the crack, with a spring loaded camming lobes...biner links to wire loops coming off of the cams....a weird design to say the least..

I havent seen such a thing in personal, but i have read something about it on this site (Aid section?) If i remember correctly it is a seizmo (could also be seismo sizemo size-mo ...) and it was made by CCH. Im to lazy to search, but there was a thread. qwert

I think you guys were seeing a CCH seismo. Not a death trap. It actually was marketed by CCH and sold, but later phased out. I would have bought it as a collectors item, not to climb on. If you look up cam history you can read more about it. The idea will probably take over sometime, a big bro that can be placed in a non paralel crack do to some type of camming device on both ends. Someone just needs to make one that is easy and save to install when leading. -Kenny ------------------------ TradRack.com SuperStore Free Email Accounts, yourname@TradRack.com, only 100 to give Click here to see if your name is available
