i just thought i would share with you guys that i went on a date with a girl last night and she totally dug the slackline in our backyard 8^) i had to go get her some pants (she was in a dress) so she could try it out. not very good for a dancer (i would think her balance would be better) but the fact that she wanted to get on it was enough to make it the coolest date i've been on in a while :D p.s. i met her when she came in to try our rock wall at the rec center... double cool.

You showed her your line on the first date? The girls around here are pretty conservative, I mean you have to wait till at least the fourth date before you can show them your line. And as far as getting them to actually walk it... dude that takes some persuading. Count yourself lucky! ______ Rudi

I slackline frequently on a college campus with a 2 girls : 1 guy attendance ratio (about 20,000 students total on this campus) and you'd be suprised at the number of girls that thing slacking is the coolest thing and are eager to try. I've found that non-climber girls are much more likely to try it than guys who are non-climbers, even taking into consideration the higher female population. If I was single, it'd be a terrific way of picking girls up as I've taught like 100+ how to slack and you get to know them quickly (plus you have to be a little touchy to be a good spotter). What does it mean, I'm not sure - but I do know it seems promising for you that she was so eager to try something that your into. Congrats and I hope it goes well. (insert bad joke about crack climbing here...) - Joe

I've taken several girls slacklining, they totally dig it for like 10 minutes, but after that they seem to get discouraged and bored. I mean I'll let them balance by grabbing my hand or something and then they can walk forever, but even I get bored doing that for a while. I've noticed climbing can be the same way, with getting discouraged and stuff. It's always "I don't have enough upper body!" And then sit around. That's always my first thing to say though when I meet someone, "Hey do you wanna go climbing/slacklining?" I guess it's harder than I thought, cause it's like a short date.

I went to SMS too and the ratio is actually more like 3 girls for every guy. Being a female slacker, I've found that more guys were interested in learning to slack than girls but it's still not a college I would recommend to any ladies who are looking for decent men. Way to go wearyourtruth it sounds like you found a good one.

Don't get too excited just yet. Now, if she into walking the line on the fourth or fifth date still, then you've got a keeper.

i think we are missing two of the finer points that this date was able to achieve: 1) he got her to come back to his place 2) he got her out of her dress and into his pants on the first date nice work. i hope things work out for you
