I've been kicking around the idea for a while now, but I'm wondering if its been done before. Does anybody know about a linkup of the longest route on each numbered Flatiron, in one day? It seems like (from my knowledge) not too difficult an idea, but I don't know about the hiking inbetween the Flatirons. Any advice?

It's done once in a while. If you solo all or most of the fronts and rap the backs, all 5 can be done in less than 8 hours without much dallying. I recently did 1-3 at an easy pace in less than 4 hours car to car (S9).

The First through Third are practically on top of eachother and are connected by good trails from top to bottom. The Fourth and Fifth have a good trail to their bottoms (the Royal Arch Trail) but it's a bushwhack after you top out.

Have a look at Gerry Roach's "Top 10 Flatiron Classics" in a day. That's only been done once or twice (I think) and whould be a huge day.

It gets done all the time. The current record is 2hr 1min 48sec. CTC.

I've soloed all 5 but never linked them. The most I've done is an odd day 1-3-5. I do the first and third together all the time this is a great link up. All except the 2nd are really good, I think the second is a pile, personally.

Have fun!
