I'm looking at adding some more climbing books to my library (if two qualifies as a library)

I currently own:
The Bible (Freedom of the Hills, 6th)
How to Rock Climb, 3rd by John Long
Numerous knot books

I am going to buy:
Training for Climbing by Eric Holst

I am thinking about buying:
How to Climb: Climbing Anchors by John Long
Advanced Climbing by John Long
The Rock Warriors Way

Thoughts, comments, suggestons, or GENERAL ramblings are appreciated.

In addition to the books you were thinking of, how about these:
FOTH 7th. I don't have it, but csoles says it's much improved.
Climb On! Skills for Efficient Climbing, Florine & Wright.
Close Calls, Long. Lets us learn from the mistakes of others.
How to Sh1t in the Woods, Meyer. A good read, although I suspect most of us already know...

And for your reading pleasure:
Climbing Free, Hill
Fifty Classic Climbs of North America, Roper, Steck.
A Night on the Ground, a Day in the Open, Robinson.
Sacred Summits, Muir

get some of don mellors books. I have one thats just called rock climbing but it tells you a lot about everything. like hand techniques, different ways to tie your ropes, and even what shoes to buy depending on the climber you are. and it has a lot of cool pictures! :D and of course they are a must

i saw training for climbing at a bookstore once, but didnt buy it. stupid, stupid, stupid. im going to buy t when i see ti next.

as you already have FOTH, im not going to recomend it

try performence rock climbing by dalle goddard and udo neumann.

try not to buy a book thats "general". most dont just tell you what you already know. if youre buying a technique book, buy one that focuses on the technique youre interested in. otherwise its going to be a waste too (like telling you the difference between closed and open grips, or having some lame drop knee pics).

you cant go wrong with books on physical (training for climbing, performance rock slimbing) and psychological training (rock warrior, some in performance rock climbing) and a good anchor book.

and it wont help you a bit if you have 100 books on knots if you dont know them. i know about 20 knots, ut regullary just ose about 6. so if you already have more than two books on the subject, you dont need any more unless they cover something special that you want to learn (like easy to undo knots for slackline setups).

just my 2c. im going to add if something jumps into my mind.

CLIMB! is about the history of climbing in colorado - a good read with nice pics.
Also the biography of John Gill is excellent.

I'd recommend Better Bouldering by John Sherman as a great technique book, even if you dont care about bouldering.

Thanks guys. I'll look at getting Rock Warrior's Way as a mental technique addition. I browsed through it at REI and it looks like an interesting read. Hopefully some of the advice and the thought processes it instigates will be helpfull.

As another question, does anyone know of places that sell used climbing books? I'm always looking to save a few cents.

I buy a lot of used books (including climbing books) from Amazon.com. Do a search for the book you want, and if any of their merchants have used copies of the book for sale, there will be a link to them.

Thanks. Amazon is actually the one place I knew of (i save loads on school textbooks that way) but its always good to hear that other people have similiar experiences with them.

i also reccomend amazon. never had a problem with them.

plus, if youre lucky the book youre looking for might be on a discount. happened to me once or twice. but even w/o the discout, its usually cheaper for me to order OL than to buy in a store.
