Sorry, but if I can find a partner, Cactus is a must on Sat. You see..."Lats DO have feelings".

Let me know if you find a partner then. Id like to climb in Eldo one day this weekend anyway.

okay, my basic thought in posting here was that i recently moved to the front range to climb more and sitting on your ass without many local friends or climbing partners sucks. however, i'm getting the shit bombed out of me for posting to this thread.

not sure who i've pissed off (or how), but i'm not gonna bother with this thread anymore. i'm sorry that using this website to meet people is so offensive, and i apologize to whoever's toes i've stepped on for whatever it was that i did.

if anyone's interested in climbing, please feel free to pm, and we can work out the details via phone/pm. finding a small group of regular partners around here would kick ass.

if you're the person who's bombing me, it would be nice if you would at least have the balls to contact me to say why you're so disgruntled by the fact that i'm trying to find local climbing partners.

i've received several pm's about this. just for the record, i think that all affected parties know that kyle, jeremy, kim, holly, and i were having fun and joking around amongst ourselves on friday - per the nature of this thread.

by 'bombing', i was referring to the new rating tool. someone has gone to the trouble of down-voting my every post on this thread over the past few days, which is effectively dropping my rating and will eventually affect my ability to post/access rc.com because the business rules involved will assume that i am a troll. when in fact, i'm just goofy, which seems to annoy a lot of people around here. basically, it's like photo bombing, only it will eventually result in in an auto-ban or tarpit - unless the business rules are changed. (i'm also pm'g with the developers to see if the loophole can be filled. down-voting someone who you dont like wasnt the point of the tool.)

the only person who i'm really upset with (and who i cant identify because of the system's inherent anonymity) is the person who seems to be systemically down-rating my posts - just put me on killfile if i'm that annoying.

anyways, i'm still reading the thread and am definitely stoked to climb with the people who have pm'd - i just dont really have the inclination to play along with whoever is obviously so annoyed by me.

tim, i agree that it's a bummer about lunch. you, marketa, my monkey and i should meet up for burgers and beer some evening.

AH! I've gotten one negative vote at least as well. Now that IS funny. If I want to give someone a negative review, I'll give it to their face via a flame or comment. I only reserve the usage of votes for positive reinforcement. Any other usage is the methodology of a weakmo.

Kyle, Jeremy, Kim, & Holly -- Good climbing with all of you last night at BRC, at my semi-annual visit to the gym. For those who haven't been to BRC lately, it's a great place, with the following features:

1. Outdoor porta-potties. The gym is in major construction phase, so locker rooms currently don't exist. Taking a leak on the nearby trees is an option, too. Hey, at least Thrillseakers has restrooms (even if they were used for other things during it's porno theatre years).

2. A changing "closet" that makes Red Rocks' Epinephrine chimneys seem expansive. I especially liked the door "lock", which another patron easily bypassed when I was attired only in skivvies.

3. A handful of 60-watt bulbs in the ceiling which "illuminate" the entire gym. Given my eagle-like vision, it was a real joy doing the purple route and asking Kyle if a foothold is on. "No, that one is blue tape. No, that one is brown tape. No, that's the black route." "So which &%$* hold is on, Kyle." "Shorty, use the green hold out on the right that has no tape -- it peeled off last week."

4. Did I mention "high route density" on the two walls that are open? This kind of goes with, "Which #%&$@ hold am I supposed to use?"

5. Rotating holds. God, I love that. Feels just like outdoors. Next time I'm packing the Bosch and I'm going to crank those puppies down so hard they'll have to remove the plywood panel to change the route.

I'm certain that the revamped walls will be quite good when they're completed. But as Kyle so appropriately stated, "This place is total ghetto." I can't wait to back! Say maybe in another five years or so.

But all in all, a fun night. Good climbing with everyone.

P.S. -- I forgot the best part. All this for 14 %&#@ dollars! Schweeeet!

Hey Brad. . .I'm a Paradise kind of woman.
How often do you visit Paradise? I like to venture out there on Wed/Thurs nights for 2-3 hours and or Tues/Thurs during lunch for a quicky. If you're in need of a partner for Paradise, call or PM.

Oh this sounds funny. hehehe

I think we may have found a new form of off-season, climber wannabe, I-can't-make-it-to-the-rock(or gym)-today website (L)user, pseudo climbing -- dry wit tooling. Or DWT for short.

And instead of "M" ratings, there can be a whole system of "DWT" ratings. I recommend an open ended system, lest we repeat the challenges of YDS ratings. To get the tool rolling, I suggest this thread's page be rated DWT 1. Hey, we gotta start somewhere.
