hey all,

i just recently started working at UPS unloading trucks, i have been doing this while climbing and just recently (after i climbed last wednesday) i found that i couldnt straighten my right arm with out a very sharp pain in the elbow area, it is fine now and i climbed yesterday and it came back slightly (didnt climb nearly as hard). im thinking a tendon or joint problem, what is your input before i see the doctor, and how long am i off the rock for?

thanks alot guys

You unfortuently have a little friend called tendonitis. The only cure is REST and lots of it. Ice can help as well. Browse through the injuries and accident forum to find more info on this nasty little bugger. I would not suggest going to a doctor simply because he'll say what hurts oh that stop doing it. And you'll then shell out big $$$'s for that. Unless it gets worse (to the point of being unable to bend) you don't really need to go to doctor. I would suggest however to start doing opposing muscle workouts...aka pushups and lots of them. You probably have a muscle inbalance....in other words your biceps are stronger than your triceps and its stressing those tendons out. That seems to have worked for me in preventing this from coming back.
