omega pasific has a new type of cam.
check it out on their site www.omegapac.com
the new cams look real cool, they walk less, the range gets bigger
if you look at news/gear they even show a film, in stead that each flake of the cam is sollid it exits out of several moving parts and sort of coms of like a chain. Difficult to explain, just have a look.

I think it's looks verry cool, do you think this is a big step in camming devices in the future?

CHEERS

sorry, look at news/new products, it's realy amazing range the cams have, they only make two sizes (from 2005) the smallest fits between 2.1 and 5. something and the biggest between 2.5 and 6.somting cm

If these things work for real it's a real improvement.

I have heard that they are having issues with dirt and grit getting inside the unit and hampering operation. I think they have a kink or two yet to work out. Great idea, might be better to wait for the next generation. Although at 7 ounces each you wouldn't want to festoon yourself with these before setting out on a long route.

From what I understood on the website these cams still have to come, spring 2005? But it can very wel give probelms with sand and dust. But the design gives you a big overlap between cams, when you have a few of these cams you don't have to worry to much about wich cam you are gonna use. And they say these cams walk less or not.

Please see the other handful of discussions on this.

Sorry but, they are old news around here - been talking about these since last winter.
