After two weeks of rain we now have "abundant shunshine" per weather.com. No rain in sight for weeks. Parts of the park can get in to the 60's. Looks like it's time to get back into the hobby/sport.

what the hell you trying to do?! no, no "abundant sunshine". all routes very slippery now. permanently. and all the vermins are wet and pissed, tearing up packs and people alike on sight. was there yesterday and found this half dead body at the bottom of Jumping Jack Crack, both arms and legs missing. he told me to go away and stay away because "they" are all around. i asked what are "they", and just then, a vermin jumped off a joshua tree and ate his face, lips and all. JTree will never be the same again. god help us STAY AWAY EVERYONE!!!

As usual, you people are hilarious! Geez, after all the rain we've had, nothing will keep all the climbers away... So, I think everyone should put their user name on their car and introduce yourself to your site comrades! :D Climb safely all...I'll see you there!

According to the climber surveys conducted by the Park last year, 95% of the climbers climb the same 5% of the climbs. So what if Double Cross, Sexy Grandma, Sail Away, Loose Lady, Illusion Dweller, White Lightning, Lazy Day, Walk On The Wild Side, SW Corner & Cryptic, Mental Physics, Atlantis, The Thin Wall and the Dairy Queen Wall have lines of supplicants? There are plenty of routes and areas that are totally devoid of the masses. Be a bit more adventuresome.

I have heard that all the routes in Joshua Tree NP currently have standing pools, no I mean lakes of water at their base--almost oceans, really. Lakes infested with infectious mosquitos--and alligators. Stay away, if you know what's good for you. Curt
