Lived up to the hype and more 5 out of 5 stars

Review by: steve-o, 2007-10-26

I've always enjoyed watching Sharma, he's always been a favorite of mine ever since I got into climbing. I own many climbing videos so I know what is really good and what's just ok. This movie didn't disappoint, in fact it exceeded my expectations. What would you expect when Lowell and Mortimer combine forces. The climbs are spectacular. This video takes you all over the world, some amazing cinematography. You even get to see Chris doing some trad, and in Zion no less! If you are a fan of climbing videos this is a must own. I think friends who know nothing about climbing could still enjoy this video and get a good picture of the beauty and challenge of it all. Could & will watch over and over.

Good Movie 4 out of 5 stars

Gorgeous footage 4 out of 5 stars

It's some of the most gorgeous climbing footage I have ever seen. The film is essentially a Sharma glorification, but there isn't as much sitting around doing nothing like you'd see in Pilgrimage. There aren't really any points where there is tons of suspense, but the sheer beauty of the shots make up for it.

I wish they put in the snippet from Committed that we saw during the Reel Rock Film Tour.

Considering most climbing DVDs are $30, I think this is well worth it. I almost dare saying that it's comparable to a climbing episode of Planet Earth.

Great Movie 5 out of 5 stars

This is the coolest climbing video I've seen in a while. The cinematography was amazing. There's plenty of funny moment, and even more jaw dropping ones.

It was cool. 4 out of 5 stars

I kinda agree with carabiner96, it was really hyped and to be honest I really liked the cut sections that were shown on mvm.com better than a lot of the sections in the film. It was still pretty sick though. The cinematography was truly unlike any other climbing film I have ever seen! Mind Blowing! I don't know if its better than the dosage films but I liked it more than Specimen.
