The industry standard in this category. I've had mine for three years now. Battery life is excellent. I've used it for everything from climbing to trail running at night to working under my truck. Excellent, durable product. I think I'm going to give it to my Dad and buy the Tikka Plus though. :-)

The value is not very good.
The non-tilting variety is especially poor, but the Tikka 2 is allright.
You can get a headlamp with LED and Halogen capabilties for what a Tikka costs, or an equally well made LED light for half as much.
A friend of mine got 2 Tikkas and 2 Energizer LED headlamps as wedding presents and gave away the Tikkas before he had finshed his honey moon. He loves the Energizer headlamps, which cost half as much!

Use it all the time. Either over a ball cap or on the noggin can. The batteries last a long time and it's light weight. Purchased some for the wife and kids.

This is a good little headlamp for camping use and easy descents. But if you are planning something serious, then this isn't the one you're looking for. The beam isn't powerful enough to do difficult approaches, or climbing for that matter. That said, the Tikka is very useful when camping in the outdoors. The low weight and the long battery life time makes it the best in its category.
