These were the second set of ascenders I have purchased, the first being the DMM ascenders. After using both brands, I would say that the Petzl's have a slightly softer feeling grip and a slighty better designed cam lever which doesn't protrude like the DMM. These are great ascenders, though are a little smaller than the DMM's which is great for climbers with smaller hands, but if you have big hands or wear thick gloves you may want to consider the DMM's.

The standard. I only wish you could attach two biners to the bottom. The biner attachment at the top means you'll never drop the bugger off the line.

Great prodcut. Strong and runs smoothly up the line. Locks off on the rope with authority and confidence. If you want to put one between your waist and chest, the Basic is a better product because it will fit better and accomplish the same thing (unless you have a ridiculously long torso, which I don't)
