Sadness... 5 out of 5 stars

Review by: ilikepargo, 2011-07-19

Love these shoes. For all the claims about "performance" and "design", the biggest issue is whether or not the shape of the shoe fits the shape of your foot. These fit mine. But with the demise of Acopa, they are now impossible to find. If I could get more, I'd buy them in a heartbeat.

great for everything 5 out of 5 stars

i usually like flat supple slippers, that being said, i couldnt complain about these shoes. John Bachar is very good about email correspondence and when i told him what i was looking for, he said this shoe is more comfortable, with a sacrifice to performance. i on the other hand see it differently.

the toe is a little boxier than on most performance shoes, so micro might require some other shoes, but i never have had any problems with getting goodness out of a pocket for my feet. the shoe of course has a lot stiffer sole than my slippers, but i still could get sensitivity. the 3-D molded sole design is very interesting, it made me relearn how to use my feet for these shoes, and i cant say that it hindered or helped me, it was just something new. the shoes cant be tightened with abandon seeing as how they are lace up, so this adds the the slight downward shape of the shoe, nothing too serious that make face or even slab hard to climb. the heal is great, it never failed me, the smearing is amazing, i never doubted my shoe to stick.

also, the shoe was one of the only shoes that i could put on right out of the box and wear the entire day without much pain, even though i did buy them 1/2 size smaller (per John Bachar's order) to get the performance fitting. this size is great because although i am used to downsizing greatly, this shoe barely stretches (i think they might still be 11 1/2). good stuff

I have had a lot of climbing shoes and I really like this one; rubber is great! I found they are very good fit for me but the sizing seemed larger than I expected. More like my street shoes. The comfort and feel is superlative. They seemed very sticky and pliable on rock. I would highly recommend them.
