Major wear and tear after just one month

These were my first pair of climbing shoes, and they fit absolutely perfectly. After using them about three times a week at the gym for about a month, the leather spot where I edge with my inner right foot split open! The rubber just doesn't come up high enough, and the leather bore the brunt of the edging. I wouldn't consider myself an agressive climber, so I expected these shoes to last at least the first six months to one year.
