Great product 5 out of 5 stars

Review by: flint, 2008-01-25

I have them hanging in my studio and find myself doing workouts in between classes and just stretching and dead hanging while we are having informal class discussions. Other comments say that the holds like to invert when on the top jug, but this is easily solved by rotating the holds and hanging from the back.

All around good work out, easier to install and more portable than a hang board. I recommend them to all my friends, I just wish I could keep a few of them off mine.

I bought this set about 2 weeks ago (new retail price is $30, which makes it even sweeter). I absolutely LOVE these things. First, they make quick and easy workouts reasonable. If you only have 10-15 minutes to spare, you can do the full recommended routine--which is still really tough unless you climb pretty frequently. Second, they offer much more variety than a hangboard in a much smaller and cheaper package. While the sheer variety of holds is actually smaller, once you combine it with limitless grip angles and widths, you have nearly infinite options. I found that after only a few workouts on these, I've actually improved my contact strength and went right back to bouldering as well as I ever had--despite taking almost 9 months off for a broken toe in the offseason! Highly recommended.

This is a really good product, and I found them to be extremely useful. They are really good if you intend to go on a trip but would really like to keep/improve your strength while you are gone. Another advantage is that they do not require much space to set up. They can be set up almost anywhere there is a pole or a tree branch. Setup is fast and easy, allowing you to set them up and then get a work-out in as fast as 10 minutes or possibly even faster. The workout guide that comes with this product is also very good, with a large variety of exercises that incorporate many ideas one would not normally think of. This workout is designed to be 10 minutes, but could be modified to give a harder or easier workout. I would not recommend them as a permanent training tool though, because they only have a very limited set of holds. Also, I do not know that I would want to pay the 50$ they have listed here for them. My local gym sells them for only 30. Also If you really care they have a variety of colors. Enjoy.
