This rope grab is the best and kindest of all the rope grabs. It is designed to grab the rope without teeth. It is also able to provide slippage under extreme shockloading. From memory I think it slips at around 700 kgs. This is highly beneficial and it does not strip the sheath of the rope in doing its job. For anyone wishing to set up haul systems this is the only type of gear to use for that job particularly so if you are going to setup 5 to 1`s or greter mechanical advantage systems. Top notch piece of gear.

I have used this adjustable daisey and have found it to be extremely versatile. I am very comfortable useing it when I know that I have to make lots of sneaky adjustments both up and down for work positioning. Comparing it to the Metolius adjustable daisey, well, they both have their place and it is a matter of choosing the right one for the particular job in mind. I`d recommend this bit of gear. Great for aid as well as industrial rope access work.

I have found the Metolius Easy Daisey to be a superb daisey to use particularly for aid climbing. As the blurb states it definitely speeds up the process. I love the one handed adjustment. This gear has got to be the laziest way of getting yourself up aid pitches as you can virtually haul your lard butt up on its inbuilt haul system. The one drawback that I have found is that it cannot be released with weight on it so what that means is that one has to get ones weight off the daisey to release it and then one can let slack into the system. No biggy really but sometimes one would like to ease oneself down a little without haveing to stuff about.Great piece of kit all the same and I would recommend it highly.

This book should be recommended for every person entering the sport of rock climbing. It details all the necessary fundamentals and coupled with a proffessional instructional course the budding new climber would be well served to read this book. John Longs style of writing allows the reader to enjoy some rather funny anecdotes along with the serious business of learning the theory behind keeping oneself alive out there in the vertical world. A peruse occassionaly by all climbers is warranted as well, one can always be reminded of the fundamentals of rock climbing. There are some wonderful pictures in here and some funny cartoons demonstrating the how to`s.

I have all the Splitter Cams including the two cam units and the four cam units. I have used them out on the rock. I have found them quite funky to use and would not suggest them being used by anyone except the very experienced. I love them for very shallow cracks in aid climbing. I would not suggest them for trad climbing whatsoever. They are a very specialised piece of pro that you should only consider if you have a particular job to do. If you are going to buy this gear second hand then you should check the manufacturers recall notice. All new gear is fine though. These cams have a very limited range of movement and can be susceptible to walking and becoming stuck.
