I bought this tent cause it is freestanding and light and so far I haven't been disappointed. I used it on Longs peak this summer at the boulderfield, the wind was blowing around 30mph and once it was staked down and guyed out, the tent (fast pitched) did great, I thought the pole might bend/break, but it didn't. If you are going to use a solo tent this is one of the best especially for buggy trips during summer.

I've had these for about a year now, They're not bad for 3 season trips. I used them mostly in the winter, and my feet were usually cold, They also started leaking, I've had this problem with every pair of montrails I've owned, maybe it's me, maybe it's montrail, but the boots crank down nice and tight and they are good for warmer trips when you're sure you'll be needing crampons. I also think they'll be good for ice climbing, but don't know for sure. They are very easy to walk in, the sole stays pretty stiff, but the uppers break in really soft making walking very natural

I got this stove as a gift, and I have mixed feelings about it. It is light, and convienient, but I think that the flame is too focused, I have to fight to keep from burning the center of whatever I'm cooking. It did do well when I was at altitude though, I boiled water at the boulderfield camp ground on longs peak (which i think is around 13,000 ft) and it did well. I'd say it's good for summer trips especially into the mountains or whenever weight and convience are top priorities, other wise I'd go with a whisperlight for melting snow, or a tuna can stove for ultra light backpacking

I think MSRmakes the best snow shoes out there, the tails give you alot of flexibility which you usually don't get with snow shoes, and the rails on the underside of the shoe give you alot of stability. I think the models with the heel lifter might be nice when going up hill, but I love my classics.
