I was starting up a traverse in the Adirondacks. All my gear had been previously placed. My partner told me to leave the Tri-Cams behind : "You'll never use them anyway..." Well, I was glad that I did not listen to him when I took a 15 foot wipper on a Brown Tri-Cam. In multi-pitch routes, ~80% of my anchors have a tri-cam in them. Moreover, I bring them along in my alpine rack; they are light, versatile and practicle. Tri-Cams are definately a great part of any rack. You just have to learn to place them....
