I love this belay device- tried and true. It has a reasonably wide opening, giving it a very smooth feed, but locks off very well too. One great feature is that you can flip in so the narrow opening is against the biner to give you more friction-- great when rapping on a skinny cord. However, for most uses the wide-end-in configuration is best, givinga smoother feed. It dissapates heat well, and seems very durable. I'd choose this any day over an ATC, but probably the ATC XP is a better device than this. Its pretty cheap too.

Superb product, but expensive. Buy ABC Huevos instead- they are identical in every important aspect except the price.

Reasonably good shoes. A narrower equivelent to Anasazi Velcros. Hold up pretty well- rubber delaminated a bit around heel cup but all in all not too bad. Edge pretty well, but not nearly as well as the Miuras. However, you get a bit more sensitivity with this trade-off. Slightly wider than Miuras as well. Miuras are a superior shoe, but these are a close runner up if you absolutely must have a velcro shoe.

Sadly, these are out of production. They have been replaced by the Quicksilver 2s. But on the plus side, if you can still find them (the enduros)they are usually cheap on closeout. Buy them.

The Enduros are a solid, dependable biner, great for quickdraws. Not ideal for racking; the gate opening is a bit narrow. While I would prefer wiregates or keylocks, for a basic workhorse biner these are unbeatable. Smooth action for clipping and very durable. Cheap to. These biners will hang in there for the long run.
