I'm going to be conservative, because it's only been a week... BUT, I'm very happy with these. They do press in on my achilles, higher than the madrocks and 5.10's, but not to the point where they won't break in. I have one pressure point on the top of my big toe, but again, not so bad. sticky, sticky, sticky!!! We'll see how they wear.

I got these to replace my smelly sapphires, and was impressed with them, mostly. They fit just like the sapphires, but are stiffer, which I liked. The rubber is great for smearing and the edging is good for an 'all around shoe' that isn't aggressive at all. Comfy to wear all day, even between climbs, and not bad on the heat/sweat. The rubber wore through REALLY fast though. All in all, a good shoe for the gym or a second (third, fourth) pair.
Fits chicks... and that's a plus.

I bought these shoes out of desperation to find a women's technical shoe in Canada.

I started climbing in 5.10 Diamonds, and loved them (still do, 3 years later), though I thought that the toe box didn't lend itself very well to small edges. Once they stopped making the diamonds, it was near to impossible to find a women's shoe in Canada, and men's shoes REALLY didn't fit.

I searched, and researched, and finally just caved in and bought the sapphires. I thought they were a little too 'comfy', but boy, did they ever improve my smearing and small hold footwork!

Drawbacks:
1) SMELL! (the diamonds were lined, the sapphires are not)... after four months of 4 days a week in the gym, these babies could clear skydome during a U2 concert. (and no, its not usual for me).
2) Softness. They are super comfy, but I'm noticing exactly the same breakdown that the other user felt... the leather doesn't 'give in', it 'gives UP'!
