I got these as an addition to the cave I built in my backyard. The Neighborhood kids love them. We create routes using the letters, and for the younger ones, make them spell words by climbing.

This must be a popular "second pair." I upgraded from MadRock Phoenix, once they got stretched out and worn to the point of feeling like sneakers. So far I have not been disappointed with the Underdog. They are still rather snug, but they will be stretched out in due time. I feel a much greater sense of control with these shoes, whereas the Phoenix basically just made me feel like I had more traction than I would with bare skin. Great upgrade, but definitely not the last upgrade.

When getting into climbing more seriously, I chose to go with the Phoenix because it is a great price and a great shoe. I have not had a single problem with the pair yet, and I am still a ways away from needing to replace or upgrade. GREAT shoe for someone starting out.
