My first time on a glacier.Nothing like a little sun to remind me how stupid i can be. I didn't have any problems on the route, and it didn't affect the rest of the trip, so all was good when the swelling went down. I just had to use a straw with my nalgene.

Flying JThe Man. The Myth. The legend. The one and only Jason Ivanic high on Liberty Ridge. Few know of Jason's accomplishments. It is a pleasure to climb with such an athlete. May 27th 2005

Tatoosh RangeThis is a panorama of the Tatoosh Range. The photo was taken from the Paradise base camp/visitors center on Mt. Ranier on March 8, 2005. This winter had very little snow resulting in low snow cover (Note elevation = 6500 feet)

rainier sunrisehigh on the DC traderoute, my brother takes a breather while adam takes a leak. behind him is a solo guy who will ask us to rope him in for the sketchy crevasses ahead. we do. notice how there is no one else in the photo? we'd all been climbing in the cascades for two weeks before this, and our lungs and legs were pretty solid. we left the muir hut behind countless parties and passed every one we saw by the time this picture was taken. had a nap in the crater. then got offroute onto the emmons glacier route on the way down;)

Rainier - August 2004 (Camp Muir)Trip to Rainier (Julie Lilienkamp and Andy Vickers) 8/13/04 - 8/15/04. From Paradise to Muir is approx. 10,100 feet. Weather can change drastically along the snowfield - take precautionary measures when traveling (ie whiteouts, extreme fluctuation in temperature, etc.)
