Bon Echo's 85 m cliff offers superb, challenging and intimidating trad climbing in eastern Ontario.

There are a few routes at Bon Echo that can give a person a touch of vertigo. "Front of the Pinnacle" isn't neccessarily one of them unless you climb up on the pinnacle itself. Standing above the lake on the third pitch with the wind blowing can make you feel a little insecure.

Karl handed me the rack (four slings and a cam) and said, it's all yours. And so I set off on "the edge of all things." This is one of the best routes at Bon Echo.

This shot is from the top of the third pitch. Paul and Willa are following up on half ropes. The kayak down below on Lake Mazinaw adds to the feeling of this cliff.
