Description:
Long Point is land-accessible via Airport Rd (off Route 19, just south of Summersville). Go to end of road (by boat rental place), park OUTSIDE the road barrier so you don't get your car trapped. Follow the well-marked 2mi trail past the archery range. There is a 50' jump-off just before the end of the trail on the left. Past the end of the main trail is a tiny footpath that follows to the right; follow this to a 5.3 downclimb. You will want two 30' ropes with some rigging hardware to get down safely. Bring trashbags to protect your gear for a short wade to the tiny island by Long Point. Find your own route and send it! Bring something inflatable to save your arms.
