Description:

Starts 40 ft. left of Party Rock where the low roof section ends. A bouldery start leads to a short left-facing dihedral. Follow this and a thin crack (crux section) to a sizeable ledge, then pull a roof to the top. Belay/rap from a large pine tree. About 100 ft.

Great route. Crux for Defoliator goes to the left from the top of the crack system to climb from the bottom. Crux is negotiating a slabby area just below (and right) of the big roof. Des not protect well but once past this point there is plenty of pro. Small nuts and cams are very usefull for piece of mind on this route.

This is an excellent, sustained climb. The crux comes about two-thirds of the way up, on a face/thin crack with scant holds. The roof is fun. Frank led this one onsight.
