good route, but super pumpy after the ledge. recommend bringing some gear...cams under BD #1

Fun roof pull. Rest of the climb is pumpy, with nice horizontals. Crux is a shallow two finger dish hold for your left hand to pull you up to a deep horizontal. Remaining 10 feet or so have great jug holds but is overhung and will tire you out quicker than you'd think.

I originally toproped this in 1981. Thought it was 5.9 at the time. Definitely not 5.11. Don't know where that came from.

Good route that took me a few tries on lead, very fun climb

Fell once on TR. Fun route but not a 5.11

Like all the other climbs here it is much softer than the given grade. Definitely not 11a. Maybe 10b at the roof, but even that is probably generous. Very fun climb though and certainly sustained overhung climbing for 65ft. 2 good bolts after the overhang, a bit spread out (15ft) but not crazy runout. You could get several good small cams (yellow metolius) in the crack splitting the roof where this routes follows so it would be a reasonable lead. Maybe next time I'll start here and lead it instead of ending the day on a TR. Good fun. Def get on it. Don't let the 11a rating scare you off.

Heelhook to send the overhang. I really like this route, and wish it (and lots of this crag) was bolted...

ya, VA climbing has some great stuff, and this area just proves that, and that the real challenge is finding it first...
