Excellent first pitch. The final seam (crux) below the fixed belay is fantastic for the grade. Delicate moves protected with micro pro. Gets more sun than you think in mid May.

A great route with some cool moves.

P1 only, meh...

First off, Illusion Dweller is over-rated and over-graded. It was good, not amazing and closer to 9+. Ball bearing was probably the most aesthetic and interesting climb I did at J-Tree. I did it all in one pitch and I highly recommend doing so. It's a rope stretcher with a 60m. Wonderful and thoughtful moves and gear placements to avoid rope drag. It's grade is fairly accurate in the easy 10's to hard 9's range. With the open views, clean rock and wonderful jams, this climbs gets at least 2 more stars than Illusion Dweller in my book! BTW - If linking both pitches, probably best not to fall a the roof above the 1st pitch anchor!
