Aptly named route. I said every cuss word imaginable on the way up. The traverse ledge at the top of the first pitch was wide, but figuring how to get up to the belay ledge was difficult. Pitch 2 was really hard - f'ing crack! About 1/3 of the way up, it started to rain and everything was so slippery. I had to haul myself up the rope in several spots to get to the top. Sad, there were some beautiful holds that became useless because of the water cascading down them. This is the first time I've been caught in a rainstorm and it felt like I was trying to swim up a stream just using my eyebrows.
Tim and I climbed this again on 8-28-05. I am too short to do the final move of pitch 1 to get to the belay ledge. I need about 6 more inches. Tim had to throw me a hand line.

Easy climbing until the end then realized it was DARK. Rapping into a void of blackness was not my favorite thing, but had a great time because of the company I was with.

One of my first trad roofs. Had to do the famous chin hold followed by the famous cheek/face hold, but made it to the top. Weather was crappy all morning until I got to the roof. The sun came out in a blaze of glory giving me that little extra umphhh.

My first climb at Highwire. Weird start. HUGE Bull snake fell from the top and almost landed on Flamer. Damn thing didn't die and provided some entertainment until it slithered off into the grass.

Climbed again on 6-30-05. What a difference a month makes. Cruised up the climb.

Got stuck the last 5' of the climb. Asked Shorty how to do it, he said to jam and stem. I said, "what's a jam?" Took me at least 10 minutes of messing around to get the last move. Big thanks to my patient partner.

Thought I was stuck for sure trying to climb through the roof, but managed to wedge past it to the belay ledge.

Rope Drag Alert! Took what I thought was the easy start and the rope got caught under a bulge. My partner couldn't see me and had the rope tight so inching the rope up over the bulge was very difficult. If I had peeled from here, the swing would have been ultra nasty. Look for the shit smear I left when I crapped my pants out of fear. Tweaked the hell out of my wrist.

Climbed again on 7-6-05. This time I did the 5.8 start. IMO, it's much easier than the 5.6 start.

Last stop at the end of the day. Easy, easy route. I brought cookies so Neph was a nice guy and hooked up the top rope for me and Lisa. I was La-Z.
