Ascent Note
Hang dog makes it sound so bad. I sat once OK. :) I pulled quite the reach to find the pocket above the third bolt to make the clip.

Ascent Note
FUN FUN FUN! I like not having to fish around for the best hold when i'm climbing. And with this route there are only a limited # of holds which are easy to find. The crux was the very last bulge before the anchors but it's not horrific. I was a sit and a half away from the onsite. Hangdog makes it sound like you sit at every bolt.

Slaped a sloper at the end and almost lost it. Not a really hard route, but has some nice techincal moves for you.

Ascent Note
It's amaizing what people will make you do when you talk smack. I need to do it again for the redpoint. It is now probably my favorite "short" route.

I'm too used to sport. Crack has a little differnt form and mentality to it. I guess you have to start doing crack some time with a life style like this. : > )

Ascent Note
I think i took the 5.11 way for this suposed 5.8. Even the first part past the bulge is scetchy on lead. I was fine till the last bolt before the anchors. That is were the 11 came out i think. You just have to foget about finding feet and match your feet with your hands. If you lead this it is a little hard to follow the crack, so be prepaired for a few tough moves. It's fun once you know how to do it. I'll get on it again.

Took a few trips out but I finaly got it clean. It was just hard for me not to be pumped by the final crux move above the roof.

Red Point ascent by: climbingpride on 2004-06-17

Ascent Note
It was at the crux that there is this really crapy two finger edge which not even Sharma could use. Luckily there was an equally as crappy egde you can hook you're thumb on. This hold was still way thin and you had to pray that you're anasazis don't peel off the crust they are standing on. So after you set this hand you move the other to a moderate mono. Then you crank this mono before you slap this decent slopy sidepull and pull up to a crimpy sidpull on the oposite side. So fun to do on lead.
