About Queen Creek Canyon:

Beautiful desert terrain, located about 45 minutes east of Phoenix. Very diverse area, crag climbing, bouldering and sport routes can all be found in the area around Superior and Devils canyon as well as Queen Creek. Plenty of wide open desert to camp in and numerous locations for climbers to explore. Stop at REI in Tempe and get local climbing guide pamphlets by Marty Karabin or talk to the locals for routes. Oak Flats (part of Queen Creek area) is also the home of the Phoenix Bouldering Contest. Get "Queen Creek" by Marty Karabin at your local climbing store for all the camping, supplies, average temp info and all the beta you can ask for. Only going to a specific area? Pick up his QC area pamphlets at REI for $2
Nearest town or city: Superior
Directions: One hour east of Phoenix. From Phoenix: East on US 60 to Superior (about 60 miles). Continue east on US 60 through tunnel. Here starts the Road Area with Atlantis parking lot immediately to your right after tunnel. Parking lot for the Pond a little further down on your right (Pond Area is on your left). 2 miles from tunnel, turn right on Magma Mine Road (MP 231) to get to Oak Flat Campground, Euro Dog Valley, the Mine Area and Devils Canyon.
