Ascent Note

Good climb but runout both at the start and the finish. The natural anchor is not shared with Bloody Crack, it's shared with Right Up. I suppose you could skip the top half and set up anchor on Bloddy Crack but that would suck, you'd miss half the fun. This route was dry when Right Up was very wet at slimy.

Climbed it with my buddy Marc, who took the photo I posted.

If you like wide cracks this is an excellent route. 4 out of 5 stars. But if you don't like wide crack, don't even think about it.

First pitch was the technical crux, funky, off balance and slightly runnout (but not bad by Toulumne standards). 2nd pitch is for the wide crack specialist. Full 5.9 grunt factor. 3rd pitch can easily suck 15 pieces of 3.5" gear if you bring it but it's not nearly as difficult. You can get away with smaller placements for much of the pitch. BTW Hexes work great. Not that I brought them or anything.

pretty hard for 10b, the start is sequential and pumpy. hung once on the 2nd bolt... then I realized I missed a hold to the left. I was through the crux but had tunnel vision and blew it. I hate it when that happens!
