Description

A small shop in Estes Park owned by (i assume) Steve Komito who I think had a hand in many of the old school routes in the area.

Always great work and service 5 out of 5 stars

I just had a pair of Scarpa Vision's resoled and could not be happier with the quality or work and great service. I have Komito before- back when I was living in Estes in the late 90's and was just as satisfied. I'll keep on using them and keep on recommending them!!!

I've had many resoles done by Steve Komito, starting with my RRs back in the early '70s and continuing to this day. The work has always been completed quickly and the results have been great. I've seen these discussions before and it seems clear that every resoler - at least once in a while - doesn't hit the mark, but for almost 40 years Steve has done good work for me.

Great Service 5 out of 5 stars

I had a bunch of shoes needing resoling when I was living in Estes one summer. They had them done in a few days and did a great job on all of them -never had any delaminating or precision issues. Plus they gave me a discount for having so many done. Plus they threw some free laces on the ones that needed them -including some Mythos. Really appreciated it and was glad they were there for me.

Steve Komito's work 5 out of 5 stars

Wow... I am really bummed to hear the negative comments about the work done by Komito's shop. I have been climbing almost 40 years and his shop has done a lot of work for me. Specifically, I went through two pairs of EB's, each one of them resoled once by Komito. In one case, they replaced the rand on the front and in both cases the new sole was well applied and lasted well through lots of toe jamming. I think rehabbing EB's is especially tough since they have essentially canvas uppers and they handle the challenge well.
I highly recommend Komito's for all of your climbing repair needs.

I had a similar experience as bnoble, but it was many years ago. They turned a precise, narrow- toed pocket/edging shoe (for the era, anyway) into something with performance comparable to Spanish rubber soled Converse All-Stars. The rand replacement was delaminating the first time I climbed in them. Looks like they still have the same quality workmanship 15 years later!
