About Stanage Edge (OS):

THE MOST FAMOUS GRITSTONE EDGE IN ENGLAND!!! This cliff is over 4 miles long. Over 700 routes in every grade, and all types too. Most routes are 50-60 ft tall, but some reach up to 80 ft. Hard coarse grit that dries quickly. Great views of the Hope Valley, and one can see bad weather approaching. Watch for midges in the late summer. Excellent bouldering. A MUST VISIT!
