About Archangel Valley:
Archangel valley was the site of heavy mining activity for a long time. There are many old mine shafts in the area. The steep walls of this small valley offer many incredible places to climb and hike. The road, however, hasn't really been improved much since the mining days and is frequently travelled in the wet spring time by a lot of trucks, so a vehicle with higher clearance is suggested, though a Geo Metro does make for some interesting moments and great looks from truck occupants. The rock climbing season usually goes from about mid-May to mid-October. Temps during the summer range between 40 and 80 degrees, with around 60 being the norm. Bring rain gear, just in case. |
