The Palisades Area is one of the best alpine climbing areas in the U.S. Four summits standing over 14,000 ft can be climbed. There is snow and ice year round, and the summmit views are considered the best in the eastern Sierras. |

Directions: | 395 to Big Pine turn west on Crocker(center of town) this turns into Glacier Lodge Road. Follow until it ends into camp grounds, park at hikers parking lot (for overnight stay) follow main trail to glacier trail (after passing third lake) trails are well marked. |
