About Wheeler Gorge:

Unique sportclimbing on three different rock types...blue schist, sandstone, and a river polished conglomerate. Climbs range from slabs to gently overhanging. Summer and Fall are best. Because of the creek, this area is bearable even on 100 degree days. During wet periods, the canyon is slow to dry out and the water level can be prohibitive. Wheeler is home to a few one-move wonders and softly-graded routes. These make the site great for the aspring 5.11 leader.

Directions: Drive north out of Ojai on Highway 33 for about 7.5 miles until you see the gorge(two tunnels). Proceed through the tunnels and park at the turnout just beyond on the creek side of the road. Approach by walking down the creek.
