Description:

Back in 1977, we went to tackle the Angel Wings So. Face after starting climbing just 6 months earlier. In a rare show of common sense I told my partner (also a newbie) "no way" once we got there. We settled on this fun little climb. Might have been an FA, but probably not. This is a prominent left-facing flake about 150' high at the base of the big arete (Rowell route). Stemming leads up to some blocks that you mantle past (5.9-ish) to a good belay atop the blocks. Second pitch is a squeeze chimney that narrows to an off-width, and ends at a very nice ledge w/ a great view of the Hamilton Lakes.
