Maryland our state of great climbing. our rocks are of Granite and sandstone for the most part. we have very few outdoor climbing spots but these few places will blow your mind away. beauty is one of the best assets to Maryland outdoor climbing spaces. Carderock overlooks the Potomac River and is generally a peaceful location but can somtimes be packed. there is a huge array of indoor gyms the best of which the general public recognizes is EarthTreks Climbing gym in Columbia MD it is the largest climbing gym on the east coast with over 15,000 square feet of climbing space. you have questions about the Maryland area contact Zlipper here on rockclimbing.com. Earthtreks climbing center has opened a new climbing Gym in the Timonium Area. also 15,000+ SQ feet of Climbing Space. both are the 2 largest climbing Gyms on the east coast. so travelers hit these 2 places up. and if you need a climbing partner i am 40min from both.
