About Mud Spring Canyon:
|
Mud Springs, like Windy Canyon, has many long, excellent routes. Unfortunately, the approach sucks. A detailed map is needed for the approach to this thing, and you'd do well for a recon mission before the actual climb.
Access: Mud Spring Canyon is accessed from the Black Velvet parking area or the Windy Canyon parking area. When to climb: Due to the nature of the approach, fall or spring when the temps are reasonable and the days arent completely short are probably your best bet. Classics: Chuckawalla is the route of choice in this canyon, and also happens to have the longest approach. Fun.
