Description:

Some of the best climbing in Red Rocks. Pitch 1: Cruise up the book liebacking, friction climbing as you go. Traverse left and up about 15' after the lieback. 100', 5.8. Pitch 2: Cruise up the friction face to the first bolt about 20' away, then head up and slightly right to a protrusion from the book. Climb around this, clip the bolt and then do the lieback. Cruise the face inside the chimney straight up to the top. The bolts up top are in a scoop. 120', 5.8 Notes: This climb is 5.8PG, and if youre just getting into 5.8's, you'll want to bring some bigger cams for this climb. There are runout sections and it can definitely be intimidating. However, this is a megaclassic climb and must not be missed!

Descent Options:

Scramble down the back side

3 out of 5 stars led both pitches

Classic? Plenty of other 5.8s that you could climb.

3 out of 5 stars Climbing this in July was fool-hardy.

Went through 5 liters of water and still felt like I was battling heat exhaustion. That was mostly due to the approach and the natural dutch oven the sand stone formed, though.

Beautiful vlimb, but defaced at the first anchor. :(
