The east facing cliffs just south of Windy Canyon are home to a large number of short trad climbs that probably havent seen an ascent in a dozen years. These crags, like the Chocolate Rocks were explored during the developmental years of Red Rocks, but havent seen much traffic since. The climbs here, though, are supposedly of very high quality.
Approach: This crag is located to the south of Windy Canyon. The best way to get here is to take the Black Velvet turnoff the 160 and head along the road until another dirt road intersects the main road on the left. Turn left here and follow this road south and west until you come to an intersection. Make a right at the intersection and follow this road past the Windy Peak pullout and continue on until you come to a very nice pullout at the far south end of the canyon. The crags are obvious due west of the pullout. The trail can be picked up from the car (look for cairns) and followed directly to the crag. You arrive at the base of Chameleon Pinnacle. Head to the right for the Main crag, and to your left for Arm Forces and the other routes.
