About The Gunks:

Most climbing in the Gunks is located on the Mohonk Preserve they charge a day use fee of $15/person (climbing) or $9/person (hiking or biking). Yearly memberships are also avalible for $50/year + $35 for climbing and $15 for biking. Each additional adult from the same household is $15.
Camping: Camp Slime, located by the steel bridge is still open as of Oct 2004 for tent camping. There is some pay camping nearby. New Paltz Hostel 145 Main Street New Paltz, NY 12561 phone: 845-255-6676 email: craigsheppard1@hotmail.com Opening May 25th, the hostel offers overnight stays for $24.50 per person. These prices include bed linens, towels, free local phone calls, on-site coin-op laundry, and fully equipped kitchen and parlor. We are conveniently located in the Village of New Paltz, immediately next door to the Trailways Bus Station. The hostel maintains a smoke and alcohol-free environment for it's guests. Operating as a traditional hostel, guest are expected to perform some minor housekeeping each day. |
