About Reimers Ranch:

As of Nov 2005 now a county owned park. Just west of Austin, Texas Reimers offers great unnatural climbs in a natural surrounding. 100s of routes from 5.6 to a single 5.14. OK for beginners, but not as many climbs under 5-9. A 40M rope will suffice for every route here. Classics include Crankenstein, T-Roofic, and Liposuction. The majority of the climbing parallels a beautiful section of the Pedernales - which provides excellent swimming and a ropeswing. There is also some Sweet Bouldering along the river. Beverages fine, but Do Not bring breakable bottles. Dogs must be on lease. Open 7 days a week. Rates recently raised to $8 per car. | Directions: | From Dallas/Fort Worth, take I-35 south to Round Rock. Exit on FM 620 and go west past Mansfield Dam on Lake Travis to Highway 71. Turn north (right) on 71 for a little over a mile, then turn west (left) onto FM 3238 (also known as Hamilton Pool Road). There is an Exxon at the intersection. Follow FM 3238 for about 11.5 miles. Watch for a dirt drive leading to the right with a sign for "Milton Reimer's Fishing Ranch." Travel that dirt road for 2 and half miles to the Ranch house. Pay admission. If you reach the bridge on the Pedernales, you've gone too far. The routes are listed from left to right, as if you were standing in the river looking back at the cliffs. You will however, probably enter from the main parking parking at Sex Canyon. Therefore, DeadCats will be to your right and Prototype will be to your left. |
