About McLellan Rocks:

The State Parks New Discover Pass is now needed. McLellan is the name of a family that owned (at one point) the land and also ran a sawmill or so the story goes. All traces are gone now, just the old tree trunks and skidder roads are left. There is a road that bears the name McLellan is on your right as you drive in from the East.

With that little bit of info, we christened it McLellan Rocks but Riverside State Parks call it "The Fisk Day Use Area." McLellan Rocks are a wonderland of Granite Formations that weave their way through an Old Pine Forest. Two hundred plus acres owned by the Washington State Parks.

The climbs are short 15' to 60' but the rock makes for high quality climbing. There is everything to climb; Sport, Trad, and Sprad with Twisted Cracks, Tech Slabs, Steep Jug Hauls makeing up Insane Sport Climbs from 5.7 to 5.12. There is also quite a bit of bouldering that been done, but the possibility for more bouldering seems just about endless.
Nearest town or city: Spokane / Nine Mile Falls
Directions: HOW TO GET THERE: Just after the town of Nine Mile Falls take a left at the bridge, over the river on Charles road (mile marker 9.5 on highway 291). The Riverside State PaIks Headquarters' are on your left (0 miles) then take a right on South Banks Road (4.2miles). The road starts out as pavement then turns to good dirt (12 miles). The road will split and parallel itself, stay to the left (many private driveways) the two roads join back up as one lane rough dirt road (12.5 miles). Then you should see an Entering Riverside Sate PaIks sign on your right (12.8miles). At 13.25 miles past the Ranger Station you will see on your left a sign reading "Fisk Day Use Area" to the right The road dead-ends at The Parking Lot. (13.5miles). I also should add that this Parking Lot Is Not Safe. Lower Life Forms like to brake in to Cars, and the Rangers are clueless on how to stop them. The better place to park is at the Day Use sgin at 13.25 miles or at that sgin keep left for another .25 or so and there is pull outs to your right. Do Not Pull off too far this is were the Rangers do do there job and give out MANY PARKING TICKETS. Fast is Safe
