About Mount Erie:

Abundant variety of climbing opportunities, mostly of easier grades but there are a number of routes rated up to 5.12b. The rock is nice a solid in most places but holds have been known to break off. The face climbing is your best bet here, as the cracks tend to be shallow and end at inopportune times. Park hours are from 6am to 10pm and there is a gate, so don't get locked in. No overnight camping. Some more info ! Rec. routes/areas include the Zig-Zag using the springboard finish 5.7?, Ray Auld memorial route 5.7(anchors need some fixing up), Shady Hollow area,The powerline wall and the upper walls. Lots more to do! Watch out for crowds at the upper walls and heed the guidebook warning of falling junk, beer bottles, and people! (This happened once when I was there!) Wear a helmet! You can scope the upper walls from the store and if you see a sea of helmets don't even bother to go up.... Speaking of, go visit the Lake Erie store. Its an old time general store with an ample beef jerky selection. Help support the little guy/girl. Ticks abound at Erie in season. Check yourself for ticks and remove them properly. Enjoy this with a friend! The Brown Lantern in downtown Anacortes is a cool pub. I heard a rumor of all you can eat fish and chips on Thursday so check it out. Have fun!
Nearest town or city: Anacortes
Directions: From I-5, take SR 536 west towards Anacortes. At Dean's Corner, take a left (staying on SR20 towards Deception Pass), then a right on Campbell Lake Road. Take the next right (at Lake Erie store) and go about one mile north to the park entrance (on your right). There is one road that leads all the way to the top and a number of places along the way to park (room for a car or two) and then take a trail to one of the eight or so major walls.
